News Releases450 Food Items and $230 Donated at Operation Homefront Food DriveA $20,000 Wal-Mart Foundation grant was presented during the event Lebanon, Ore., (May 2009) – More than 450 food items and $230 were donated at a recent food drive for Operation Homefront, held Saturday, May 2, at the Lebanon Walmart store. Operation Homefront operates a local food bank for military families in need of emergency food assistance. During the food drive, Lebanon Walmart store managers presented Operation Homefront with a $20,000 grant from the Wal-Mart Oregon State Foundation Giving Council. “Walmart appreciates the commitment and sacrifice military members and their families make by serving our country,” said Lebanon Walmart store manager Pam Zieman. “We’re honored to support Operation Homefront, which offers much-needed assistance to these heroes and their families, and helps fill their pantries with nutritious food.” ABOUT PHILANTHROPY AT WAL-MART STORES, INC.
