(April 2, 2009) - Join forces with six Walmart stores in the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area, Saturday, April 4, in a one-day community-food drive to benefit the Oregon Food Bank Network. The six Portland-Vancouver area stores will join with 22 other Walmart stores throughout Oregon in simultaneous food drives to collect 100,000 pounds of food in one day. Each store has partnered with an Oregon Food Bank Network member agency in its local community. Food raised at each Walmart remains in the local area to help its neighbors in need. In addition, each store will donate $1,000 to its partner agency. Walmart associates, local students and staff will help collect the food.
