News ReleasesFor Vampire Romance Twilight, Walmart Hosts Blood Drive, Midnight Events, and “Twilight Shops” at Portland StoresFans encouraged to and roll up a sleeve to give blood What: Vampire romance mania has hit Portland and Walmart is ready to give fans an event to remember for the Twilight DVD movie release this week. The retailer is hosting a variety of Twilight activities including a blood drive, the opening of Twilight shops, giveaways, and a midnight release party Blood Mobile Drive Walmart has partnered with the American Red Cross Pacific Northwest Blood Services Region to host its blood mobile to remind customers that it’s not just vampires who need blood, but friends in our community. Every blood donor will receive a special Twilight gift as a thank you. Friday Midnight Twilight Movie Event and In-Store Giveaways Not since the release of the last Harry Potter book has the retailer created such an event for fans anxious to get their hands on the first DVD of this box office hit. All Portland and Vancouver area Walmart stores will have special midnight giveaways for the first 50 fans in line Friday night before the DVD releases 12:01 am Saturday. Gifts will include a special Edward & Bella photo folder and viewing party elements. For the many fans planning “viewing parties,” Walmart has opened its Twilight Stores with an array of affordable apparel, bags, accessories and items. Friends can also connect with fellow “Twilighters” on the internet, with party tips and a Twilight “eBite” on line at www.walmart.com/twilight.
